I've been a computer IT guy for years and had never really considered myself an "artist" because I can't draw to save my life. Well, a few years back I discovered that I was artistic, but in a different way.... with a camera! I've always loved looking at pictures. A few years ago, I decided to treat myself to a really nice digital camera and 3 really good lenses. I've been hooked ever since. My equipment list is considered by some to be overboard, but I don't mind because I like having different things to try so I don't get bored. I've also converted a 300 sqaure foot room in my house to a photography studio. I've now lived photography for years. I don't have a "degree" in photography but have probably put in more time learning than those that go to school for photography. I've attended learning seminars and workshops, read shelves of books, examined the work of great photographers on the web, viewed more web clips than I care to say. I have also been fortunate enough to be mentored by a close friend who has been a professional photographer for over 20 years. Thanks Michael!
